House electrical wiring guide (Lahore)

Wire colours

• Red (or brown): phase / live.
• Black (or blue): neutral.
• Green or green-yellow: earth.

Typical cable sizes (copper)

• Lights: 1.5 mm² (3/.029).
• Sockets: 2.5 mm² (7/.029).
• AC, geyser, kitchen heavy loads: 4 mm² (7/.036) on a dedicated breaker.
• Main supply to DB: 6–10 mm² or larger, as per load calculation.

Final sizes must follow the load calculation and run length on your electrical drawing.

Safety points

• Separate circuits for each AC and for the kitchen.
• RCD/ELCB on socket circuits and bathrooms.
• Proper earth pit with tested resistance.
• PVC conduits fixed before plaster, with pull wires.
